Trade Area

In addition to the 261,000 residents of Lubbock’s MSA, Lubbock is the Regional Hub and primary shopping destination  for a twenty-six county region within about 90 minutes or less from Canyon West within West Texas and Eastern New Mexico, with a total population of around 553,000 people.
  • Lubbock is the largest metropolitan area between Dallas/Fort Worth and El Paso, and is geographically central to the surrounding cities of Amarillo, Midland, Odessa, and Abilene.
  • Lubbock is home to a two square mile cluster of national, regional and local retailers that totals well over 3,000,000 square feet, which is exponentially larger than any collection of retailers within 300 miles!
  • Shoppers from Eastern New Mexico regularly make the trip to Lubbock to shop on the weekend!

  • Lubbock is the home of Texas Tech University… one of Texas’ largest universities. Texas Tech is also the largest of the five higher education institutions located within the Lubbock MSA, and a large percentage of those student populations hail from major metropolitan areas such as Dallas and Houston, where great retail is expected.
